I want to hear a company hum. After twenty-seven years in energy and resources, I know what that sounds like and what it takes. Decisions land at the right level, teams pull in the same direction, and information circulates throughout the company. Promethus exists to bring that to mid-sized companies where growth has created friction.
I spent fifteen years building management systems and operating models for large energy companies. I started Promethus to bring that work to mid-sized companies, working directly with the founders and leadership teams who run them.
I do my best work with leaders who are eager to outperform what their company can do today. Many are founders who built the business on relationships and delivery. They feel the friction of growth and know more performance is available. Their challenges are the steady, day-to-day kind that a team has learned to live with, and they want their own people running the solution.
The work behind it
Twelve of those years were inside oil and gas service companies. The other fifteen were with major producers and midstream pipelines, building the systems those companies run on.
At Pembina Pipeline, I advised on the enterprise-wide operations management system: its governance, ownership, and alignment across pipeline, gas gathering, processing, and liquids infrastructure.
At Plains Midstream Canada, I spent ten years embedding the operations management system. I designed and built the governance framework from inception, aligned it with corporate strategy across more than twenty departments, and co-led the merger of the joint health and safety committees across Canadian and US operations.
Earlier, as a consultant, I delivered management system architecture, process standardization, and performance frameworks for oil sands operators including MEG Energy and Cenovus Energy. That work showed me that this expertise transfers from the inside of a company to the outside of it.
Before that I worked in business analysis and project management, including a coal business unit at Teck Resources, environment health and safety systems at Nexen, and field automation and SCADA for producers across Western Canada.
I hold a Master's Certificate in Business Process Management from the University of San Francisco, Business Analyst certification from Mount Royal University, I am a Prosci Certified Change Management Practitioner and an Exemplar Global Management System Lead Auditor.
Why mid-market
Large operators have whole departments maintaining their management systems. A mid-sized company carries the same regulatory obligations, the same client audits and the same liability, with a fraction of the corporate function to do it with.
Many companies respond by hiring an operations manager and hoping the problem was capacity. Sometimes it is. More often the need is to see where the work actually breaks down, and that is a different job.
How I work
I work inside your operation, alongside the people who do the work. Together we build systems your own people can run and sustain, sized to your company. Execution stays yours.
I work with two clients at a time so each one gets the attention the work deserves. The first conversation is where we both decide on fit.
Beyond client work
I write about the operating patterns I see in growing companies and the solutions that bring them closer to operational excellence. I am passionate about speaking at industry events and facilitating CEO peer learning forums.
